Watch: Internet Cut Off as Minister of Telecommunications Arrives

After casting his vote in Bteddine El Loqch, Minister of Telecommunications Charles Hajj stated that “the telecommunications sector in Lebanon is in the same condition as all other government departments, and we have reached this state due to the absence of elections, accountability, and oversight.”Hajj added that “this electoral event carries a fresh significance because it is being held on time. Elections are a national responsibility, and we must ensure that the right people are elected. I call on Parliament to pass the expanded administrative decentralization law, as there can be no reform without development.”Notably, MTV’s reporter on site reported that internet service was cut off just as the minister arrived.Watch the attached video for more.
